THUG Online

GameSpy hung up in 2014. We picked the phone back up. We don't sell the game and we don't ship it: you bring the 2003 PC copy you already own, the patch brings it back online. A few megabytes, a new executable and the scripts it needs. Your levels, skaters and soundtrack stay right where they are.

  1. Dust off your copy

Install Tony Hawk's Underground for PC (2003) from your disc or your backup.

  2. Grab the patch

Windows, macOS or Linux: same game, same servers, same trash talk.

  3. Drop · unpack · overwrite

Unzip it into the game folder and say yes to every “replace?”.

  4. Run it. Skate.

Multiplayer → THUG Online Play. Pick a lobby, host a room or crash somebody else's.

Message

Bring your own THUG. Put the .zip in your THUG folder, the one with THUG.exe and Data. Unpack it there and overwrite the files. Run it. Play. Enjoy!

OK

pro tip: installed under Program Files? Copy the game folder somewhere you own first (Documents works). The game keeps its settings and saves next to itself.

What's inside

The original online menus, wired to a brand-new backend. No mods to learn, no launcher, and no account needed to drop in as a guest.

  • Lobbies & chat

Four regional lobbies plus a beginners' park, each with a chat box for strategy, trash talk and “gg”. Keep it skate-friendly.

  • Homie list

Make a profile, add your crew, see who's online and what they're up to, then jump straight into their game.

  • Host or crash

Up to eight skaters a room: Trick Attack, Graffiti, King of the Hill, Slap!, Capture the Flag and the rest of the classics.

  • Router-proof

Built-in NAT punch-through. No port-forwarding rituals, no sacrificing a goat to your router.

  • Ranked & rankings

Ranked games count. Climb the monthly high scores, the best combos and the all-time ratings board.

  • Cross-platform

Windows, macOS and Linux share the same lobbies. The bowl doesn't care what OS you run.

Port features

Same game, same physics, same 2003 soul. This port fixes what time broke and adds the settings it always should have had. Every bit of it switches off if you want it stock.
